Spreading Warmth to Those in Need
Our students participated in a heart warming project to help fellow students at Public School 15 in Brooklyn, New York, who were victims of Hurricane Sandy. The project, developed planned by the Middle School Student Council, turned into a school wide event. Under the direction of science teacher, Katie Kaufman and several adult volunteers, 156 fleece wraps were finished and sent before Christmas. The fleece fabric was purchased with funds from the PTO and Student Council, and two 2nd grade students headed up a school-wide Penny War to raise over $757 in funds to support the hurricane victims. A special thank-you to our volunteers and Bushman Trucking for delivering our packages!
