Reading Rewards
HOW DOES Reading Rewards WORK?

CHOOSE A BOOK (at their individual reading level or above).

FILL OUT a Book Slip---and have your teacher check reading level and SIGN.

READ the Book!

Choose a Book Project or Book Summary (get forms from the library)

Finish the Project or Summary.

TURN IT IN (to the library WITH your book slip). It will receive a grade of Accepted or Not Accepted (Do over)

The library staff will keep a file of the slips for each student.
WHAT COUNTS:
Students may turn in a project that is created for a classroom assignment for the Reading Rewards IF it fits into one of the Book Projects below.
OR
A BOOK SUMMARY can be completed on any books that are required reading for class but not for read-alouds.
A book with 400 or more pages will count as 2 books with a completed PROJECT. Summaries won’t be accepted..
WHAT DOESN’T COUNT:
Books read aloud to the student in the classroom. Books that are below a student’s reading level.
HOW MANY BOOKS QUALIFY for Bay Beach?
22 books in grades 3-8
Grades 3-4 (a limit of 6 picture books will be allowed)
Grades 5-8 (a limit of 4 picture books will be allowed)
All grades: a limit of 4 graphic novels
BOOK SUMMARIES:
You can get a paper copy in the library or print your own.
