I
I am in my fifth year at WBHS. I graduated from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI in 2007 with a degree in English Education, and this is my 9th year as a full time teacher.
I currently teach all 10th grade English classes at WBHS, as well as Creative Writing and Journalism Publications. Sophomores in my classes will learn valuable reading, writing, and communicating skills that they can use and improve on in their final two years of high school, and that they can use in higher education or the work force. Students will leave my class with an appreciation for all types of texts and the ability to read them with a purpose of finding meaning and making connections, as well as responding to the text thoughtfully in writing and through discussion. Creative Writing is an elective in which upperclassmen explore and create poetry, short stories, and drama or plays. Students learn the basic structures, formats, styles, and literary devices in creating their written work. In Journalism Publications, students learn all aspects of journalism by covering school events, writing articles, and working as a team to produce the WBHS yearbook, The Sword and Shield.
My other interests include spending time with my family and pets, reading, watching movies, and watching and playing soccer.
